Rhoda Smith

Practice Manager and Fully Accredited Counsellor, Rhoda (She/Her) has over 10 years of experience working with clients presenting with a diverse range of difficulties.

Rhoda has qualifications working with many mental health disorders including Depression, Anxiety, O.C.D., Stress, Grief and Loss, Trauma and Panic Attacks/Disorder. Rhoda is qualified as a Mindfulness therapist, a C.B.T. practitioner and a Mental Health Trainer.

Rhoda provides a friendly and welcoming support and works in a collaborative and empathic way with her clients to make them feel safe, comfortable and understood. While also providing a professional and effective therapy to assist clients to recovery.

Rhoda is available for daytime and evening appointments and is ready to help and support.

Joan McDowell

As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist Joan (She/Her) works with many different therapies to tailor the approach that suits the client's individual needs. She works in a holistic way and incorporates the mind, body, and spirit as a whole.

 Joan works with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Bereavement and Loss, Self Harm, Suicide Ideation, Suicide Postvention and Couples Therapy. Joan has worked in person via phonecalls with The Samaritans and SOSAD.

 Joan is available for daytime, evening and weekend appointments, she is experienced, non judgemental and welcoming.

 

Fiona McGough - Slane Counselling Centre

Fiona McGough

Fiona (She/Her) is an Integrative Psychotherapist working from a humanist and person-centered approach. She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship to facilitate healing, change and growth. Fiona aims to create a warm, safe and non-judgemental environment to enable respectful exploration, while working in a gentle yet challenging way.

Fiona recognizes the individuality of each client and integrates knowledge and skills from different therapies according to the specific needs to the client. Fiona also provides the very popular walking and talking therapy which offers an alternative to the counselling room.

Fiona has experience working with an array of presenting issues such as grief & loss, anxiety, stress, self-esteem issues, gender dysphoria, depression and trauma.

Fiona is available for afternoon, evening and online appointments.

Ruth Duffy

Ruth (she/her) has a deep belief in talking therapy as a gift we can give to ourselves, at many times, through the journey of life. She works with adults and her aim as a therapist is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to enable you to be curious, explore, and develop awareness that can lead to personal growth. 

She draws on various approaches and works alongside people who experience a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, bereavement, abuse, bullying, low self-esteem and much more.

With a background in applied healthcare, she has worked for over 20 years and trained as a counsellor because of the belief that having good mental health is the key to a being able to have a fulfilled and meaningful life.

Ruth is available for daytime appointments.

Neil O’Connor

Neil (he/him) believes in the power of counselling to help clients to understand themselves better and to heal. He has experience working with a wide range of issues including anger, abuse, trauma, relationship issues, sex and sexuality, intimacy, gender issues, anxiety, self esteem and many more.

Neil is led by his client in an empathic way, often working with the inner child to facilitate healing and change.

Neil’s background in Children’s Nursing and suicide prevention add to his compassionate and non- judgmental approach to all clients.

Neil works in person with adults and is available for daytime and evening appointments.

Laura Coyle

Laura (she/her) is an Integrative counsellor and is dedicated to personalizing her therapeutic approach to suit each client’s unique needs.

Laura believes that as unique human beings there is a need to receive support that reflects the clients individual preferences and needs. Laura will work closely with you to explore your experiences, thoughts, beliefs and behaviours that are effecting your life negatively. Through counselling you are given the security and safety to explore and understand these, so that they may be healed and transformed.

Laura works with a range of mental health concerns including Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Bereavement and Loss, Self Harm and specializes in Suicidal Ideation and Suicide Postvention.

Laura works in person and online with adults and also provides relationship counselling.

She is available for daytime and evening appointments.
